Breaking news – Upcoming version

today the openmediavault project announces the special operation ‘FalseNAS’ where it will switch to FreeBSD with GNU Hurd kernel in version 7.

The main reason behind this switch is to have support of the breaking ground new APFS file system. Another killer feature will be the support of Google Android apps. This will allow you to install and use them directly on your NAS. Because of the massiv changes we expect OMV7 not before 01.04.2029.

World domination for openmediavault

New plugin available

Today a MinIO based high-performance, S3 compatible object storage plugin has been released. Please note that this plugin, in addition to the previously released plugins, breaks new ground by using container technology. Because of that please do not use them on production systems and only for testing. If you have found a bug, please file a report in the bugtracker.

Please note that some of the plugins that are based on container technology are not available on all platforms. You will find the supported architectures in the plugin description.
